R00TK1T Strikes Malaysian Government: Breaches Two Institutions, Exposing Vast Data Troves – Daily Dark Web

R00TK1T, a notorious hacking group, has purportedly breached the servers of two Malaysian government agencies.

In the case of the Malaysian Information Department, the group claims to have accessed a server containing a staggering 270GB of cloud storage, which represents only a fraction of the total 32TB of data stored within. This breach potentially exposes sensitive government information and underscores the vulnerability of Malaysia’s digital infrastructure.

Additionally, R00TK1T allegedly penetrated the defenses of Portal Rasmi Kerajaan Negeri Kedah, securing access to a massive 5TB of data. As a demonstration of their capabilities, the group has released a small sample file from this extensive dataset, underscoring the severity of their intrusion and the potential risks posed to governmental operations and public security.
