- The computer infrastructure of Coffee County in Georgia, which was already at the center of controversies related to allegations of fraud during the 2020 US presidential election, fell victim to a cyberattack in early April.
- As a precautionary measure, access to the state’s election systems was cut off due to the malicious activity detected by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
- No evidence of data exfiltration has been found so far.
- This attack comes at a time when other Georgia counties are involved in legal battles related to attempts to overturn election results.
